About Sheleah.

Sheleah D. Reed is an Identity Coach who helps people discover their authentic selves and become effective leaders.

In her day job as the Chief of Staff and Chief Communications Officer of a large urban school district, she uses the power of storytelling to advocate for the 8,700 people on staff in her school district.

She has spoken at colleges and universities across Texas, co-hosted panels on leadership, education, and branding, been a keynote speaker at conferences and conventions, and earned numerous awards for her work as a Strategic communications professional. She is also the creator of All The Things, a podcast that helps listeners understand the world of K12 education from the perspective of her district’s community.

Sheleah is passionate about using her voice to empower others through stories, sharing lessons learned from her own life experiences and those of others she has worked with through the years.

Everyone has a story worth telling, and she has dedicated her life to helping people find theirs through professional development, leadership coaching, mentoring, and speaking engagements.

In the aftermath of George Floyd’s death, Sheleah utilized her position and voice to create think tanks in organizations such as the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA). In her own district, her efforts led to a Board-approved equity resolution and an equity audit used to address inequities in district policies and practices. She has also, in collaboration with the district’s Chief Transformation Officer, launched an all-boys leadership academy in partnership with an HBCU in the area. This school was created to allow young boys to have a safe space for their experiences and to feel seen and heard.

Sheleah hopes to leave a lasting legacy for students, her mentees, and her sons, Alden and Anders, to become future change agents.

Sheleah’s latest project is her self-help/memoir hybrid detailing key stories in her life that made her a thought leader in authentic living and identity.

In Action.
